If you’re a T-Mobile or AT&T cell phone customer, your handset may be dual-band GSM and work only in North America. If you suffer from owning incompatible Verizon or Sprint CDMA handsets, then you’ll need a new handset in all but Canada, Mexico and few Caribbean countries.

But the real killer on taking your existing cellular phone abroad is the rates. International roaming on plans not created for calling home from international locations can be very expensive. Demand for cheaper calling from abroad has led to the development of Telestial’s purpose built international SIM cards and travel cell phones.

A SIM card is the small chip that easily allows GSM phones to operate on different networks. Telestial GSM handset and International SIM Card packages

If you need a new handset to use with your International SIM card, then Telestial has that covered too. You will need a new handset if you have service with CDMA networks Verizon or Sprint. CDMA technology won’t work in Europe, Africa, Asia and The Pacific, Australia and some South American countries. If you have a dual-band GSM handset with AT&T or T-Mobile, again, you will need a new handset. 850/1900 GSM frequencies are used in North America, while much of the rest of the world operates on the 900/1800 GSM frequencies. If your handset is tri or quad-band and unlocked you will be ok, but if not Telestial recommend the following travel cell phone options:
